Protests at the G-20 Summit in Toronto turned violent Saturday and Sunday as black-clad protesters set fire to multiple police cars and smashed shop windows, as shown in the videos below.
According to CNN, more than 600 people have been arrested since the protests began on June 18, with 253 of those arrests coming on Sunday, according to Constable Tim Garland of the Ontario Provincial Police.
Disruptive, violent protesters interrupted peaceful protests at various occasions, burning at least 4 cop cars. According to the Globe and Mail, crowds were kept back by officers in gas masks and a mounted police unit. A sound cannon was also called in to quell the protests.
The G-20 summit is "the premier forum for our international economic development that promotes open and constructive discussion between industrial and emerging-market countries on key issues related to global economic stability."
