SOMERVILLE, Mass. — The Massachusetts State police were called to intervene when a women's pro football playoff game Saturday escalated into a brawl on the field.
The Boston Militia and the D.C. Divas are rivals who trash-talked throughout the game, then "reached a boiling point" after an interception was thrown, according to CBS Boston.
Jennifer Powell, defensive back for the Boston Militia, said the D.C. Divas started the fight.
“A large amount of the girls came over and I had cleat marks on my back,” Powell, who plans to press charges, said.
