Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program
The Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. JAG funds support all components of the criminal justice system, from multijurisdictional drug and gang task forces to crime prevention and domestic violence programs, courts, corrections, treatment, and justice information sharing initiatives.

| Five states get lion's share of "Stabilization" funds |
| Public safety agencies in 26 states are expected to receive a total of more than $2.5 billion in new funding from the so-called Government Services Fund, a little-known allotment in the economic stimulus bill passed earlier this year by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama. According to new documents obtained by PoliceOne, almost three quarters of those funds will be spent in just five states. |
