Me. K-9 finds juvenile who fled police
By Toni-Lynn Robbins
The Bangor Daily News
GOULDSBORO, Me. — Officers from five law enforcement agencies surrounded an area between Route 186 and Route 1 in Gouldsboro Friday evening after a 16-year-old boy ran into the woods with a steak knife.
When Gouldsboro police arrived about 5:30 p.m., the boy bolted from a parked car and ran to hide in the woods, Malloy said. Officers from Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Ellsworth, the Maine State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department searched for him. Ellsworth's K-9 found him within five minutes of its arrival around 6:30 p.m., he said.
The boy did not harm police when he was found, Malloy said. He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for evaluation and was released to his father, he said.
