LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A K-9 helped take down a carjacking suspect who police said led them on a pursuit through three counties Monday.

The chase ended in Nelson County after the suspect swerved to avoid stop sticks, WLKY reported.  He pulled over, opened the door and was bitten by the Louisville Police K-9.

An officer then pulled on the leash, dragging the suspect to the ground. Officers cut through the suspect's shorts to release him. He was treated for minor injuries and transported to the Nelson County Jail.
