Manhunt still on for robber who shot Calif. cop

Surveillance video shows an assailant wearing a ski mask enter a bank with an assault rifle

By PoliceOne Staff

CHINO, Calif. — Police searched Thursday for an armed assailant who injured a police officer and fled.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing a ski mask enter the building with an assault rifle. Police describe him as a white male between 35 and 40, who appeared to be wearing body armor.

The wounded officer responded Wednesday to reports of shots fired at a California Bank & Trust and was hit at least once, according to the Los Angeles Times

As the gunman fled from the scene, he dropped bags of money in the parking lot. The officer drove himself to a hospital and is in stable condition, authorities said.

The FBI is involved in the search for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chino Police.
