Suspect charged for shooting at Houston cop

Officer J.J. Garcia, who discharged his duty weapon in the incident, was not injured

HOUSTON, Texas — Charges have been filed against a suspect who fired several shots at a Houston police officer at 6910 Old North Belt about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 18).

The suspect, Brouchea Lemond Edwards (b/m, DOB: 10-26-75), is charged with attempted capital murder of a police officer in the 339th State District Court. A photo of Edwards is attached to this news release.
