WITCHITA, Kan. — Man accused of robbing a Rice County bank, then firing at a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper will be in court for a preliminary hearing today.

Jason Gleason is charged with several crimes including one count of attempted first degree murder, four counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of criminal discharge into an occupied vehicle.

Three people were hurt in the incident back in October.

Authorities say, Gleason robbed a bank in Rice County, threatened workers with a gun, and took off in a car with an unknown amount of cash.

Police tracked Gleason down after he crashed his car in Saline County. Troopers say he got out of his car and started shooting. A trooper was injured by broken glass and a woman and one of the three children in Gleason's car were shot.

Authorities say Gleason took off on foot and was found and arrested about two hours later.
