SEVENOAKS, Kent — A police officer got into the Olympic spirit with an impromptu dance on the torch route yesterday.
The outrider shocked spectators in Sevenoaks, Kent, when he stepped off his bike for a boogie. The torch arrived in the host city in dramatic style last night after Royal Marine Martyn Williams flew to Tower Wharf in a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter and undertook a 180ft descent into the grounds of the Tower of London.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy has been arrested after attempting to grab the torch in Gravesend yesterday morning. He was pushed away by officers in a matter of seconds, police said. No one was injured in the incident and the torch continued on its way without disruption.
