BAYTOWN, Texas — Baytown police have released the dash-cam video of a high-speed pursuit that ended in a fiery crash that killed a 16-year old boy, and critically injured another.

On Friday, Jennifer Rene Jenkins and Shannon Joe Chauncey were spotted shoplifting a comforter and pillows from Sears, according to WCSH6.

Police tried to make an arrest.

Chauncey, who was driving, hit the police cruiser with his truck, and took off down Garth Road.

He struck a second car, whose driver, 17, was hospitalized in critical condition.

The passenger, Shawn Williams, 16, was killed. At the time of the crash, the two teens were less than five minutes from home on their way back from work.

The dash-cam video shows Chauncey’s truck swerve,  then speed off as the officers in pursuit slowed down to not endanger the public.

Court officials denied bail to Chauncey, who was charged with evading arrest resulting in death.

Charges of evading arrest, theft, and possession of a controlled substance are pending against Jenkins.
