GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police released more details this week about the drunk driving arrest of Detroit Red Wings prospect Riley Sheahan after a Halloween Party.
Sheahan, 20, was arrested at the intersection of Ottawa Avenue and Pearl Street on Oct. 30 after driving the wrong way on Ottawa near Fulton Street. He continued to Fountain Street with a police car following, according to a police report from the incident, and drove around construction barrels before stopping. Sheahan is currently a Grand Rapids Griffin hockey player.
Sheahan identified himself to police as Brendan Smith and was wearing a purple Teletubbies costume, according to the police report. His eyes were glazed over and blood shot and the interior of the vehicle smelled of alcohol, the report said.
