Cop impersonator finds there's nothing like the real thing

Impersonating a cop is a bad idea--especially if the person you're trying to fool is a cop.
An undercover Dallas police officer was at a 7-Eleven gas pump in the 5800 block of Skillman Street on Wednesday afternoon when a man approached him.
The real officer told the man to leave him alone and left the gas station. He then called for backup and started following the impostor as he walked to the 6200 block of East Northwest Highway.
A uniformed officer arrived and arrested 28-year-old Christopher Phillip Kennedy on suspicion of impersonating a public servant, public intoxication and possession of a prohibited weapon. Mr. Kennedy''s criminal record includes convictions for burglary and possession of marijuana.
Mr. Kennedy was being held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on Wednesday night. Bail was set at $15,500.
There is no "Sgt. Kirshman" on the Dallas Police Department''s roster.
