Ohio fake 'cop' tells kids to behave

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Donald Brown approached several children Thursday in Elmwood Place, flashed a badge and a gun and, the children said, told them to behave or he’d take them to jail.

Because Brown, 49, of Elmwood Place, isn’t a police officer, he was arrested.

The children told police they were on a street corner at about 5 p.m. Thursday when Brown approached them, flashed a badge and showed them the gun in his waistband.

The frightened children told a teacher who called police.

One of the children pointed out which Elmwood Place house Brown went in and police went there.

Brown took police to his car and showed them the badge and gun – that proved to be a plastic BB gun.

Brown was charged with impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Once inside the Elmwood Place jail, police said Brown became “very disorderly” and started punching himself in the face “claiming officers were assaulting him,” an Elmwood Place Police report noted.

Brown was ordered held on $5,000 bond.
