PROVO, Utah — Police responding to a domestic-violence call over nude photos ended the night with a drug arrest.
A Lehi officer arrived at the squabble just after midnight Monday and found a man had been assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.
The girl allegedly wanted the man to return pictures he had taken of her posing in the nude, according to the affidavit.
As the man went to retrieve the controversial photos, the officer asked what else was in the large envelope.
The man said it was just his stuff, but the officer could clearly see a clear baggie with something white inside, according to the affidavit.
The man said it was Ambien and some Suboxone -- both prescription drugs -- but the man had a prescription only for Ambien.
Talking with the girlfriend, the police officer learned she was afraid her boyfriend was selling pills and is already on probation for doing so, according to the affidavit.
An Adult Probation and Parole officer was called out for a more thorough search and they also found a 5-inch knife, according to the affidavit.
The man was arrested for investigation of domestic violence assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon on $10,000 cash or bond bail.
