Man arrested after burglary of Ambridge store

WTAE

AMBRIDGE, Pa. — Surveillance video shows the bumbling burglary attempt of a man who was later arrested in Ambridge on Sunday, police said. Police said 25-year-old Nicholas Pellon broke into a closed Moh's Market at 8 a.m. Sunday.

"He definitely qualifies as one of the world's dumbest criminals," Police Chief James Mann said. "He frequents the store. He does business with the store. He actually has a running tab with the owner."

Police said Pellon stole $150 in cigarettes but was unable to flee the store by climbing the rope he used to drop into it. "The store is basically like Fort Knox," Mann said. "Once he was in there, he was frantic trying to get out."
