PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — With the rash of home break-ins plaguing this area, neighbors are on alert. Port St. Lucie Police were called to investigate a suspicious car on SW Consolata Avenue.
When the police tried to talk to the driver of a 2006 blue Dodge Charger parked in the roadway, Torrey Howard took off. The officer says Howard was pretending to be asleep in the car. As the officer tried to get the Howard's attention, he tore off at high speed.
When police found Howard, he was running down the street in his underpants near Gatlin Boulevard and Savona.
