The Lafourche Parish Sheriff has announced an opening for a Warden in the Detention Division in the Corrections Department. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years law enforcement experience, including experience in Corrections. Applicants must have a Bachelors Degree, POST certification, computer skills, communication skills and writing skills, however additional experience may be substituted for education. Interested individuals must have the ability to multi-task as well as be self-motivated. Prior Corrections administrative work and knowledge of Department of Correction guidelines is essential. Applicants should have experience in facility planning, design and construction. Duties include, but are not limited to: communication with executive level officials (both public and private), conduct research and propose solutions to problems, responsible for monitoring expenditures to assure compliance with approved budget, maintain ACA accreditation standards and adhere to and achieve the goals of the Sheriff relative to the mission of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
