Job Description |
||
|
Officers are responsible for overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to serve time in a jail. Officers maintain security and inmate accountability in order to prevent disturbances, assaults, or escapes.
|

|
Candidates for employment must have a high school education or its equivalent, have no felony convictions, and be a United States citizen. Candidate must be in good health and is required to meet formal standards of physical and psychological suitability to work in a correctional environment. Applicants may be screened for drug abuse, subject to background checks, and required to pass a written and physical fitness examination.

Job Requirements |
||
|
Once employed by the Weston County Detention Center you will be required to attend a nine week Detention Officer Basic course at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy located in Douglas, WY at the expense of Weston County.
|

|
Salary Information |
||
| Entry Level Salary: $13.45 hourly | ||
| Academy Graduate: $14.45 hourly | ||
