Under general supervision of the Command Center Team Leaders, employees in this class are responsible for monitoring day to day traffic flow and dispatching resources to ensure the safety and security of roadway users through camera monitoring, 911 call taking and dispatching. Duties include:

* Monitors roadway activities by monitoring radio calls, reviewing video and camera information on current conditions and accidents, posting information for signage, contacting other resources, facilitating removal of vehicles, and monitoring agency facilities.

* Provides radio dispatch by dispatching appropriate units or agencies to calls upon assessment of circumstances and the acquiring of information, determining appropriate department or crew for response, maintaining communications with personnel in the field, maintaining, sending and confirmation information to assist with each circumstance, and monitoring other calls.

* Maintains records by entering information into databases, submitting reports as required, and recording and filing documents.

* Completes routine general office duties by maintaining a variety of official logs; contacting other departments to obtain or provide pertinent information, typing, filing, and answering general inquiries.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Windows-based computer applications.

Ability to learn and/or have working knowledge in the use of radio consoles, video monitors, and telephone systems.

Ability to positively work in a team setting.

Ability to communicate quickly, accurately, and effectively with public safety personnel, local authorities, customers, vendors, key NTTA Personnel, and all others contacted, especially during stressful emergency.
