Position Title: Correctional Officer Private
Position Type: Police
Job Description
Provides the care, custody and control of inmates in a direct supervision environment; performs necessary functions regarding the intake and release of committed inmates/detainees; provides security for all persons within the institution; controls the flow of visitors throughout the institution; provides counsel and assistance to inmates/detainees; ensures inmates are afforded fair and just treatment.

Additional Information
Reasons for disqualification may include (but are not limited to) the following: poor work history; poor driving record; felony conviction; illegal drug usage, possession, distribution, sale or purchase; falsification of application or other documents; failure to meet physical standards; inability to competitively complete any of the component parts of the selection process; and/or any other disqualifying factor as determined by the Department of Corrections.

Job Requirements
  • Age 18
  • Education High School or GED
  • Experience None
  • Additional Requirement :

    • U.S. Citizen or a resident alien
    • Possess a driver's license valid in the State of Maryland
    • Shift work including weekends and holidays is required.
