South Carolina: Spartanburg County sheriff's deputy killed. Our condolences go out to our good friend and newsletter member Captain Allen Freeman and his Spartanburg County law enforcement family on the loss of their Brother officer. Captain Freeman runs the Southeaster SWAT Challenge and has become a good friend of Chattanooga SWAT over the years.

California: Police Tuesday released the names of four Santa Rosa SWAT team members involved in the fatal shooting of an Oakland homicide suspect who fled from a Santa Rosa hotel Friday night.

Canada: Taser alone didn't kill suspect. The pathologist who examined Geldart's body, told the inquest that in his opinion the primary cause of Geldart's death was "excited delirium," a condition in which a mentally ill person is acutely agitated, violent, sweating profusely and showing an insensitivity to pain.
