Florida: A traffic stop went awry Monday when a man who was being pursued for speeding crashed his car into a fence, struggled with an officer and was then shot, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.

The pursuit of Maynard reached speeds as high as 25 mph and attracted a gaggle of officers and children and other neighbors trying to catch or catch a glimpse of the creature. A police officer eventually caught him by the tail.
