P1 Photo of the Week: Gator pull
This week’s photo is from PoliceOne Member Sgt. Louis Chiappetta of the Lee County (Florida) Sheriff's Office. Louis writes:
"Routinely we here in south Florida get calls for “nuisance alligators” in residential areas. Sometimes these gators are quite large. When they are big, we call Florida Fish and Game (FWC) who sends a trapper to get the gator before we have to shoot it. The trapper shoots it in the tail with a bow line then reels the gator back into a noose. Once in the noose, the gator is pulled a shore for transport. This one gator in particular was so large the two trappers required help to pull it a shore. It took 2 trappers and 3 deputies to actually lift the gator into the rear of the truck."
