Forming the Circle of Defense

Knowing where to position yourself relative to an inmate, and where to place back-up officers can help keep you safe and the inmate under control. Multiple officers should form a "Circle of Defense" around an inmate. Proper positioning also allows you to cover your fellow officers' backs.
