Woman posts photo of undercover cop on Facebook

Melissa Walthall has been charged with retaliation

By PoliceOne Staff

DALLAS — A woman who allegedly posted the photo of an undercover police officer to Facebook has been charged with retaliation.

Melissa Walthall, whose Facebook post identified the cop as an undercover officer, knows a suspect the same officer testified against in a drug case, the Associated Press reported. Charging documents indicate the post, which was labeled "Undercover Mesquite Narcotics," threatened the officer's safety.

"Anyone know this b*****," the caption read.

According to an affidavit, the officer's testimony also upset George Pickens, who is a friend of Walthall's. Another local man, identified as Bobby Stedham, used Walthall's photo to make flyers that he and Pickens planned to display.
