Pipe bomb found near N.M. school
The Associated Press
FARMINGTON, N.M. — Authorities are investigating a pipe bomb detonated at an oil well near Piedra Vista High School in Farmington.
San Juan County sheriff's Lt. Tyler Truby says the detonation Tuesday appears to be an isolated incident.
But authorities ask people working in the oilfields to call law enforcement if they find anything at well locations that doesn't belong there.
The sheriff's office advises people to not touch any object that seems out of place and to leave and call 911 once they're about a mile away.
Deputies and the Bureau of Land Management's rural crime initiative are investigating. The FBI checking the remains of the pipe bomb for evidence.
