Description: 

The Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG): This program provides federal funds for anti-drug efforts in the State of Wyoming. The Program is administered on the federal level by the United States Department of Justice-Bureau of Justice Assistance. This program is administered on the state level by the Office of the Wyoming Attorney General-Division of Criminal Investigation. This grant is awarded on an annual basis. This grant is used for the following:

  • Investigation: Funding for five (5) Regional Drug Enforcement Teams composed of local and state officers that provide statewide coverage to investigate illegal drugs and violent crime.
  • Identification-Records Systems: Funding for criminal history records and improvements of the State of Wyoming criminal history records system.
  • Forensics: Funding for the State Crime Laboratory to provide forensic services to the criminal justice system involving illegal drugs and violent crime.
  • Training: Funding for the State Crime Laboratory to provide forensic services to the criminal justice system involving illegal drugs and violent crime.
