Man arrested in connection with murder of Mass. officer

The Associated Press
Officer Down: Officer Daniel Talbot

BOSTON One person has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Revere police officer.

A law enforcement source says the man, whose name has not been released, is NOT charged with the murder of Officer Daniel Talbot. It was not immediately known what charges the suspect does face.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned later today in Chelsea District Court.

Talbot was shot once in the head early Saturday morning as he socialized with other off-duty officers in a parking lot behind Revere High School.

Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley said there was some kind of confrontation and an unidentified shooter fired on the officers, who fired back. An autopsy report shows the bullet that killed the 30-year-old Talbot was not the same caliber as weapons the other officers carried.
