Albuquerque Journal

MILAN, N.M. — A female prisoner stole an unmarked Milan police officer's vehicle Sunday when she was left in it and slipped out of her handcuffs, according to the New Mexico State Police.

Bridget Romero, 27, was handcuffed in the back seat of the unit when she managed to get her hands free, enter the front of the vehicle and drive away, according to police.

The vehicle, a 2013 white Ford Taurus, was found later Sunday but Romero was not.

State Police are asking anyone with information about Romero, who is described as 5 feet 2 inches, 138 pounds with brown eyes and hair, to call 505-863-9353.
