Police Deal With a Number of Attempts to Steal ATMs
MONCTON, N.B., Canada (CP) -- An automated bank teller machine was stolen Tuesday from a pub in Moncton.
The theft was one of a number of attempted efforts to remove such machines in the Moncton area over the Christmas holidays.
Police Cpl. Terry Kennedy said this type of crime is on the increase not just in the Moncton area, but in communities throughout Canada and the United States.
He said the general procedure is to tie something around the machine and yank it out of the building with a truck or van.
