On 9/11, we mourn our fallen, and move forward
On 9/11, remember we are not alone
 September 11, 2013
Dear PoliceOne Member,

"We will never forget." Today, as we mourn the loss each of the nearly 3,000 Americans who perished in the 9/11 attacks — especially 23 police officers from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and 37 police officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department (PAPD) — we feature two special columns.

Jack Hoban and Bruce Gourlie share an excellent story of Jack’s travel to Canada, where he found in law enforcers there a kind of kinship in 9/11 memories. And I offer some thoughts toward the tendency for our conversation to go from mourning and remembrance to a shared vision of vigilance for the future.

Remember, we are not alone

By Jack Hoban, PoliceOne Contributors
We are not alone in this battle against terror — and crime, for that matter. The US has friends and allies around the world who accept as true that killing innocent men, women, and children over an ideology is immoral. And we want to say thank you
