Dear PoliceOne Member,

We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s April Fools coverage; if you missed it, you can find it here. It’s a serious business we’re in, and we believe it’s important to take a moment every now and then to share a laugh at the more absurd elements of the job.

However, rest assured that April 1 is very much an exception to our editorial coverage the other 364 days a year it's business as usual, and you won't be seeing any "joke" news, like sling-shots to replace firearms or burrito bans.

New stats may forecast more contact with ASD subjects
By Doug Wyllie, PoliceOne Editor in Chief
If you have 90 contacts in any given period of time (let's say a week of work), at least one of those contacts could potentially involve someone on the Autism Spectrum. That’s potentially 50+ ASD contacts a year, which is a staggering statistic to get our heads around. Issues for cops

Product Review
Lone Wolf Distributors' .40 S&W to .357 SIG conversion barrel
By Lindsey Bertomen, PoliceOne Columnist
For some Critical Response teams, the .357 SIG may be a better choice for team members. The increased speed on failure drills is the biggest selling point for me. The bullet is lighter, with a higher velocity.

Be a little 'froggy' on patrol
By Rich Von Voigt, PoliceOne Member
When I say froggy, I don’t mean jumpy as in afraid. I’m talking froggy as in prepared to leap — prepared to take care of business. You can project that behavior without ever making a threat of using force at all.
Leap when you need to
