PoliceOne continues to add to our coverage of IACP 2010 — watch for commentary from our cadre of columnists in coming weeks and months about the education sessions we attended — and our product coverage continues to grow every day. We’d like to thank all the Chiefs of Police and law enforcement leaders with whom we met during the event, and the various vendors with whom we met.

While I typically review just one product at a time, this month I looked at a handful — no pun intended — of tactical knives. Testing knives for patrol use is something I really enjoy, I did my best to try to cause the locks to fail, the edges to wear, and the steel to stain. I placed the knives into category winners.
Is your knife a winner?
Airborne support for law enforcement that won't break the bank
If you are of the opinion that your department cannot have low-cost — or potentially even no cost — air support, the folks at Vanguard Defense Industries can very likely dispel that myth in about ten minutes of conversation.
Serious strategic advantage
The tactical knife is like the officer’s firearm. Most of the time this piece of equipment is on standby, always at the ready. Like any piece of safety equipment, failure is costly ... Never run out of ammo
The Magpul BAD Lever (Battery Assist Device) allows manipulation of the AR15/M16 bolt release using the trigger finger, without requiring the shooter to remove their weapon hand from fire control. Made from milspec-anodized aluminum the BAD Lever attaches to the standard AR15/M16 bolt release without permanent modification of the weapon.
Train in the Most Realistic Environments with Intrafuse 10/22 Tactical Trainer
The 10/22 has become a useful training tool for law enforcement. The Intrafuse 10/22 Tactical Trainer is a perfect enhancement for the 10/22 in a training capacity. With the addition of a quad-rail system on the forearm, a 6 position collapsible stock with the TAPCO Rubber Buttpad, and a SAW Style pistol grip, this system provides the ergonomics similar to an AR.
