Editor's Note:

Anthony McIntosh, who murdered rookie Ohio Officer Jeffrey Manning Phegley in 1987, recently requested parole. PoliceOne asked for your support in making sure that he wasn't released from prison and you sent responses by the hundreds, which we forwarded to the parole board. We just learned that McIntosh will stay behind bars where he belongs — a shallow victory in comparison to Jeffrey's sacrifice, but a victory nonetheless. Rest in peace, Officer Phegley.

Backup gun strategies for the police professional
P1 Exclusive
The use of backup guns by law enforcement officers remains a controversial issue. Has the backup gun become a superfluous piece of equipment that no longer fills a legitimate need? Or is a backup gun an essential weapon that every officer should carry? ... Full column
