Members of the Placer County (Calif.) Sheriff's Dept. are banding together after one of its deputies lost a child when she accidentally shot herself with her father's gun.

Kalli was in the garage with her father when she found the loaded gun and fired a shot. The firearm was a personal handgun, not the deputy's service revolver. This tragic incident serves as an important reminder to lock up your firearms ... A terrible tragedy
