Wash. officers bitten, shoot two dogs

The Associated Press

TACOMA, Wash. -- Two Tacoma police officers who were bitten while trying to stop a dogfight shot and killed two dogs.

The officers had gone to the aid of a woman who was walking her pet dog today when it was attacked by two pit bull dogs on the loose.

One officer was bitten on the arm and the other on the leg. They used a Taser on one of the pit bulls, which ran off.

The officers had to shoot and kill the other pit bull. And the woman's dog, perhaps because it was upset, also attacked an officer and was shot and killed.

The officers are being treated at a hospital for their bite wounds.
