DWI charges for N.Y. man who hit cop car

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. — An intoxicated Huntington man who had previously been convicted of drunken driving crashed into a Suffolk County police department patrol vehicle, injuring an officer and then fleeing the scene, authorities said.

Malcolm Wenz, 43, had a blood alcohol content of .15 -- nearly twice the permitted level -- when officers located him a short distance from the site of the Sunday accident at Broadway and Monaton Drive in Huntington, police said.
