Tex. officer injured in head-on collision

San Antonio Express-News

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. —  A San Antonio Police Department officer was injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision on the South Side, authorities said.
Officers said the wreck occurred at about 2 p.m. when a motorist turned in front of the officer's cruiser as it drove east on Southcross. The cruiser hit the front right corner of the car, and both crashed into another vehicle stopped at North Presa.

Police said the motorist, who they did not identify, collided with the cruiser ran from the scene but they caught him after a two-block foot chase. He was arrested and charged with failing to stop and render aid, evading arrest and not having a driver's license or insurance.

EMS technicians treated the officer at the scene for scrapes and bruises.
