Cause of Death: Makowski died as a result of gunfire wounds.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. — A Dearborn Heights officer died overnight after he was shot in the line of duty.
Officer Jason Makowski was shot in the eye during a confrontation with a man in a neighborhood near Joy and Beech Daly roads Wednesday afternoon, Local 4 reported. He was assisting officers who responded to a 911 call about a man outside his house carrying a gun at about 6 p.m. in the 8500 block of Norborne Street, according to police.
Police said the man, Jeffrey Wolf, was battling depression and had been arguing with garbage workers.
