As you remember these fallen officers, take comfort in recalling that they dedicated their lives to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Our commitment to remembering those with whom we shared the badge does not fade.

Officer Down: Agent Osvaldo Pérez-León

Officer Down: Agent Osvaldo Pérez-León - [San Juan, Puerto Rico]

Age: 33

Cause of Death: Automobile accident

Agent Osvaldo Pérez-León was killed in automobile accident while transporting a children participating in the Youth Athletic League program.

A tractor trailer traveling in the opposite direction crossed into the opposing lane of traffic while attempting to avoid another car. The truck struck a bus, pushing it into the van.

Agent Pérez-León was flown to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The seven children in the van sustained minor injuries.

Agent Pérez-León had served with the agency for 8 years.
