Three Minneapolis officers placed on leave after drug suspect dies in shooting

PoliceOne Staff Report
( ST. PAUL, Minn.) -- An undercover drug buy went awry on Tuesday night leaving one suspected drug dealer dead and other with minor injuries, according to police.

The three Minneapolis officers involved, Aaron Morrison, Scott Ramsdell and Michael Kaneko were put on paid administrative leave pending a police investigation, police spokeswoman Cyndi Montgomery told the Associated Press.

The name of the man who died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul was not released. Michael Wayne Ivory, 39, the other suspect, suffered minor injuries.

An operation that started at Mickey's Diner about 7 p.m. led to a brief car chase that ended about a block past the Xcel Energy Center, police said.

Montgomery did not say how many shots were fired.
