(STILLWATER, Minn.) -- A former police sergeant has been spared a jail term for embezzling more than $2,000 from a Boy Scout group he supervised.

Davin R. Miller entered a plea Wednesday that acknowledged he was likely to be convicted but did not admit the crime. He paid $6,428.71 in restitution ordered by the judge, the St. Paul Pioneer-Press reported.
