(RUMSON, NJ) --Borough police reported an incident of aggravated assault on a police officer and driving while intoxicated Jan. 29.

According to Lt. Richard Tobias, a call came into police at approximately 8 p.m. Monday about an erratic driver on Rumson Road.

Police responded and eventually stopped Anthony Fragetti Jr., of Sea Bright, on Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright.

Fragetti, 29, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault on an officer after he was reportedly violent when officers tried to get him into a jail cell.

Fragetti is also facing one count of resisting arrest, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a Breathylzer test, having an open container in a motor vehicle and failure to stop, Tobias said.

Bail was set at $ 1,500 by Monmouth Beach Judge John Colannino and was posted by a relative of Fragetti, Tobias said.
