Seized marijuana linked to killing

February 15, 2001
(BROOKLYN PARK, Minn.) – Investigators believe that 30 pounds of marijuana seized in a drug raid was part of a stash that served as the motive for a killing earlier this month.

Eight people were arrested late Tuesday in Brooklyn Park near Minneapolis. Investigators say that some of the suspects knew Jeffrey Stenseth of Brooklyn Center, who has been charged with the murder of Shaun Pearson.

Pearson was allegedly killed during a search for marijuana he had stolen from Stenseth. Two other men have also been charged.

Authorities say that Tuesday night’s raid were in response to complaints of drug trafficking in the three apartments that were searched.
