Bill for Binding Arbitration for all Sheriff's Deputies in New York State

Member Submission

PoliceOne.com is currently looking into doing a story on this bill. In the meantime, please read below. ******** This letter is to inform you and the readers of police one of the binding arbitration bill that is currently awaiting the signature of New York Governor Pataki. This bill would give binding arbitration to all Sheriff's Deputies in New York State. Currently Sheriff's Deputies are the only police officers not afforded binding arbitration by state law even though we have been classified police officers by New York state over 10 years ago. If you could please report on this situation and let the readers know about this bill so they may write or send an email to Gov. Pataki in support of the bill. The Deputies of NYS would be forever grateful for your assistance in our fight for equal protection under the law.

Sincerely,

Derek l. Belmore
Deputy, SLCSO
