SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Steven Bernard Hill - better known as Stevie B - was hauled off stage during a performance Friday at the MassMutual Center and arrested for failure to pay child support.

Hill, whose song 'Because I Love You' topped the charts in 1990, is accused of owing $420,000 in child support. He was handcuffed and led off stage in the middle of his set.

According to the Springfield Republican, Springfield police Sgt. John M. Delaney said Hill was surprised by the arrest and concerned that he might miss a weekend show in Providence, Rhode Island.

Hill is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
