Deputy Sheriff Arrested for Allegedly Pointing Loaded Gun at Superior

Associated Press

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - An Albany County deputy sheriff has been charged with menacing and reckless endangerment after allegedly pointing a loaded gun at a superior.

The incident was alleged to have happened during a disciplinary hearing on Monday when Deputy Sheriff Michael Diedrich was informed he was being suspended for 30 days for insubordination.

When asked to turn over his badge and gun, Diedrich allegedly pointed the loaded gun at Undersheriff John Mahan. Other supervisors were able to subdue Diedrich.
