Careless driver in Fla. leads police to $2.5M in drugs
ORLANDO, Fla. — An improper lane turn led authorities in Orange County, Fla., to the discovery of $2.5 million in drugs hidden under a false floor inside a big rig, according to a Local 6 News report.
Officials said when the tractor-trailer was pulled over in Orange County on Saturday, the big rig appeared empty. However, an investigation found the drugs hidden under the floor of the truck. The floor of the truck was elevated to hide the 1,000 pounds of marijuana, authorities said.
"Upon further inspection, inside of the channels (on the bottom on the truck) they were metal boxes," Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Gibson said. "And inside of the metal boxes were these blocks of cannabis (that) were inserted. ...
