Video: "Santa" arrested for criminal mischief, evading arrest

AUSTIN, Texas — A man dressed as Santa was arrested Friday while drawing with chalk outside the State Capitol Building.

James Peterson, 36, was participating in an event in front of the Capitol along with members of the Occupy Austin movement at the time of the crime, according to RT.com.

In video taken during the arrest, Peterson asks an officer for his name, then after given a response replies, “Well, you’re damn sure not on the good list.”

DPS spokesman Tom Vinger stated that Peterson was asked by a Capitol employee to stop defacing the grounds but refused, according to the article.
