Suspect fatally shot in Wis. officer-involved shooting

The sheriff's office reports that there no other suspects at large, and no deputies were injured in the shooting

ELKHORN, Wis. — Walworth County sheriff's deputies were involved in an officer-involved shooting early today that left a suspect dead, authorities said.

The sheriff's office has not released detailed information in the shooting, but the agency reports that at 2:45am today Walworth County sheriff's deputies were involved in an "on duty incident" that led to the suspect being shot and killed.

Names of the suspect and the officers were being withheld, and the location and details of the shooting have not been disclosed.

The state Division of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the shooting, and police plan to release more details later today.

The sheriff's office reports that there no other suspects at large, and no deputies were injured in the shooting.
